Owen Hatherley je spisovateľ, kritik a historik, ktorý sa venuje architektúre a urbanizmu 20. storočia. Osobitne skúma modernizmus, povojnové plánovanie, socialistické a komunistické prostredie a to, ako zastavané prostredia odrážajú spoločenské a politické dejiny. Je autorom viacerých kníh, napríklad Militant Modernism, Landscapes of Communism či A Guide to the New Ruins of Great Britain.
